Parent - Teacher Interviews & formal reporting of students progress

Teachers conduct formal parent-teacher interviews mid year.  Informal ‘Meet the Teacher’ interviews take place towards the beginning of term one and are used to discuss any concerns or needs of the particular child.

Gen Ed - Online Reporting

At Commercial Road Primary School, we have begun reporting to parents via Gen Ed, which is an online reporting system taken over from the Ulranet.

Teachers regularly update each child’s work samples and progress, which parents are able to view at any time.  The school provides all parents with a user name and password, and access to computers in our Parent Room.

In June and December parents are provided with a printed copy of their child/ren’s AUSvels progression points and are invited to attend Gen Ed training sessions where they will be assisted to view their child/rens’ reports.

Homework

Parents are encouraged to take an active role in their child's learning by assisting them with any homework tasks and listening to their child read aloud on a regular basis.

Naplan Tests

Students in Years 3 and 5 participate in Naplan testing each year.  Families of students involved in this receive a standardized report which gives additional information regarding student achievement.
